General information for all control kits:

WARNING READ THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE UNIT

ALL UNITS ARE RE-TESTED THE DAY THEY ARE SHIPPED. IF THEY WORK HERE THEY WILL WORK WHEN YOU GET THEM.

WE RECOMMEND AN ON OFF SWITCH BE INSTALLED ON THE POWER OR GROUND SOURCE OF THE RECEIVER TO AVOID BATTERY DRAINAGE.  USE THE FUSE LINK PROVIDED OR YOUR OWN ON THE RED POWER WIRE WITH A 10 AMP FUSE.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE USE OF DIODES AND OR FUSES ON YOUR RECEIVER WIRES TO PREVENT ANY BACK FEEDING FROM DEVICES THAT THE RECEIVER WILL BE CONNECTED TO. IF POWER IS BACK-FED INTO THE RECEIVER IT WILL BURN OUT ONE OR MORE FUNCTIONS. IF YOU CREATE A SHORT YOU WILL BURN OUT ONE OR MORE FUNCTIONS. MAKE SURE THE POWER SOURCE HAS A REGULATOR IF IT IS FROM A SMALL ENGINE. RECEIVERS CANNOT BE REPAIRED AS THEY ARE POTTED. WE WILL NOT COVER ANY RECEIVERS THAT HAVE BURNT OUT CIRCUITS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF APPLICATIONS FOR THESE UNITS. WE DO NOT PROVIDE APPLICATION DIRECTIONS OVER THE PHONE. IF YOU ARE UNSURE HOW TO MAKE THE WIRELESS UNIT WORK WITH YOUR APPLICATION SEEK THE ASSISTANCE OF SOMEONE THAT IS.

YOU MUST PROTECT THE UNIT FROM POWER SURGES OR YOU WILL BURN OUT THE CIRCUIT BOARD AND WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW RECEIVER.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REPLACING THE WATCH BATTERY IN THE TRANSMITTER, DO NOT PRY IT OR YOU WILL BREAK THE BATTERY HOLDER.

1. Good (CLEAN) solid power and ground connections are required for operation (direct connection to the battery is recommended). An in-line on/off switch is recommended as a safety function and for battery draw when the unit is not being used.

2. Make sure the receiver is mounted in an area that is as open as possible for your application. Metal surrounding the receiver can result in intermittent operation.

How to wire in Diodes to protect  the receiver from voltage spikes

TROUBLESHOOTING DC WIRELESS REMOTE SYSTEMS.

Follow these steps: REMEMBER ONLY UP TO 12 TOTAL AMPS AT ANY GIVEN TIME, 10 AMPS PER FUNCTION DRAW. IF YOU EXCEED THIS YOU HAVE TO USE RELAYS…BETWEEN THE RECEIVER AND YOUR ACCESSORIES.

• Make sure the green LED is lit when the receiver power is turns on. If the LED is not on, check your power supply to the receiver.

• With the receiver powered up, make sure the red LED comes on when the buttons are depressed on the keyfob. If the red LED does not come on the receiver is not getting a signal from the transmitter. If the battery in the transmitter is more than 2 years old check battery voltage with a meter or replace battery.

• After completing the above steps and the unit still will not function, follow the procedure, Set-up of Keyfob to Receiver Address.

• If the unit still will not operate. Check connections to the component that the unit is trying to actuate using a voltmeter.

• (Problem Common for units with latching) The unit loses its programming between the transmitter and the receiver. (solution) The unit has received unprotected power (back feed)  up one of the wires that is connected to one of the accessories you are trying to control. This can be intermittent. This can also cause one or both of the latching functions will not hold the latch. Check your accessories for current draw and  Diode or fuse protect all control wires.

If you lose a circuit. first listen to see if you can hear the relay activate on the receiver. You should here a click when you press a function. Then with a volt meter check power before and after the diode or fuse  (if used) on the circuit. When the button for the specific circuit you are checking is pressed you should have 12 volts before and after your diode or fuse. Diodes will go bad and will burn out if exceeded.

PROGRAMMING THE TRANSMITTER TO THE RECEIVER.  NOTE ALL WIRELESS REMOTE KITS COME PRE-PROGRAMMED UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN THE DIRECTIONS. ALL TRANSMITTERS ARE PROGRAMMED BY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS BELOW.

 1. Remove lid from receiver

 2. Connect 12vdc power to the receivers (red wire) and ground to (black wire)

 3. Turn transmitter over and with a small paper clip depress the programming button (the light in the transmitter window will begin to blink blue) (note you need to be within 2 feet of the receiver to do this)

 4. Immediately turn the transmitter over and depress each button on the transmitter one at a time.

 5. Turn the transmitter over and WAIT UNTIL THE LIGHT STOPS BLINKING BEFORE PROCEEDING.

 6. Now locate the black button in side the receiver. Press it once and it will start blinking red.

 7. depress each button one at a time on the transmitter.

 8. Press the black button inside the receiver and the red light will stop blinking.

Your transmitter is now programmed.

You can program as many transmitters as you want to a single receiver by following the above directions.

Additional wiring, connectors, relays,switches diodes, solenoids… may be required for your particular application. WE DO NOT PROVIDE THESE ITEMS.  Note  All control ranges are clear line site without metal interference. Always mount receivers where they are not obstructed by metal enclosures.  No more than 12 amps at any given time can run through the receiver. For higher amp uses you must use relays… with the unit.

Units are designed for off road use only. 60 day limited warranty from invoice date. There is no warranty for burnt out circuits on the receiver. Transmitters are not waterproof. All units are programmed(unless noted in the directions) and double tested before they ship. It is the responsibility of the customer, to protect the receiver from voltage or amp spikes that may back feed into the unit from the equipment hooked up to the wireless unit. It is highly recommended that a on off switch be installed on all units to prevent accidental operation when not in use. The use of 6-10 amp diodes or fuses on each circuit is recommended.
